ViolationsStudent actions that violate the Honor Code Statutes include: 1. Cheating 2. Plagiarism 3. Lying 4. Academic Theft 5. Disclosing Honor Council Information 6. Registration Irregularity 7. Failure to Report and Honor Code Violation
Honor Council Process vs. Judicial Process:
Honor Council deals with all academic related violations. For example: Stealing a student’s bag that contains class notes and textbooks, cheating on a test, plagiarizing a paper, lying to a professor.
Judicial Council handles non-academic matters. For example: Stealing a student’s wallet, drinking alcohol underage, violating other university policies.

Possible Sanctions: Student penalty(s) assigned when a student is found guilty of violating the Honor Code Statutes include, but are not limited to: Letter of Reprimand & Honor Probation (Automatic) Failure: on assignment, in one course, in all courses Suspension: Up to Three Years Spring, Summer, or Fall Expulsion: Permanent separation of a student from the University of Richmond Automatic if found guilty of a second violation Creative Sanctions
