A letter from our Current President
It is with great pleasure and excitement to be serving my first term as president of the Lovely, Sophiscated, and Refined Roses of the Rho Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. My main and utmost priority, as the chapter president, is to be of service to Alpha Kappa Alpha, my chapter, and to all of mankind as our motto says. This prestigious organization is based on high, ethical standards. It is with great intent that I lead this chapter effectively so that we are able to uphold the standards of our founders as well as in our everyday lives.
During the fall semester, Rho Mu sorors have had the opportunity to attend the Undergraduate Round-Up Conference in Richmond, Virginia. Also in the spring semester, the Rho Mu chapter has graciously attended the 55th Marvelous Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in Greensboro, North Carolina .For several consecutive years, Rho Mu has received many outstanding awards at these conferences. I can only hope that the lovely sorors of the Rho Mu Chapter will continue its dedication, commitment and involvement in these conferences of Alpha Kappa Alpha for the betterment of our precious sorority.
Also, Rho Mu Sorors planned and implemented many successful programs throughout both the fall and spring semesters. One of the highlights this semester was Rho Mu’s third annual Breast Cancer walk entitled, “Walk for the Cure”. Rho Mu sorors were able to collect over 700 dollars for Breast Cancer research, as well as provide a program with a guest speaker to enlighten individuals on the causes and symptoms of breast cancer.
