The University of Richmond Sierra Club is an organization devoted to improving the environment and spreading awareness of environmental issues here on campus and in the community. Some of our past activities have included waste audits, tree planting, tabling in the Commons and at special events, hosting speakers and films, the promotion of positive environmental habits on campus, “Recyclemania”—a national recycling competition among colleges and universities, and much more.
This year we are focusing on making UR more Earth-friendly by replacing our carbon-derived electricity with electricity from renewable energy sources. This is a momumental undertaking, and we could use all the help we can get.
Come to our meetings in Tyler Haynes Commons room 346 every Wednesday from 8:00-8:30pm and get involved in saving the world one small step at a time!
