Brothers and Friends, we are
currently organizing a capital campaign on a scale never before seen
by Sigma Alpha Epsilon Virginia Tau! Help us achieve our most
immediate goal of building a deck wrapping around the lodge as well
as securing a “rainy day fund” for our fraternity!
It
has been in the interest of the VA Tau chapter for years to have
a
lodge deck. This addition to the Howard P. Falls Memorial Lodge
would be a place for brothers to hang out, relax and get away from
the dorm life. Not having fraternal housing at the University
is really
a downside to fraternity life. The bonds that brothers
form while
living under one roof is something that cannot be
replaced, but we
feel that having a deck would bring everyone
together. The idea
has been discussed for years, but the funds and
dedication has
never been there. This year we decided to guarantee
the fraternity
that we can make this deck happen. In doing so we
established
a Deck Committee of about 9 brothers, with members from
all
pledge classes, including a current pledge. With all of us
having
different roles, our main focus is to raise the sufficient
funds for
the deck. We are estimating the costs to be in the
$18,000-$20,000
range. With a lot of hard work and a little
help from the alumni
this is a very reachable goal.
