Why are you in Senate and what do you want to do: Not being a senator my freshman year, I was able to view it from an outsiders perspective. I have had a lot of experience with high school senate, so I’m planning on using my experiences to help the RC senate.

Why are you in Senate and what do you want to do: I am in Senate, because I want to be the voice of the student body. The administration of this school can sometime seem somewhat overwhelming; I want the students to have some more power. I believe the students need more power, because at times students feel somewhat intimidated by the administration and I believe that the students should not feel this way. I also want to attempt to close the gap between RCSGA and WCGA. I feel as though in order for the University of Richmond to become a truly better place, the two governing bodies need to be in sync.

Why are you in Senate and what do you want to do: Since coming to Richmond I’ve become involved up to my eyes as an R.A. in Gray, a Young Life leader, a member of the Men’s Ultimate team, and various Christian organizations. By moving around and staying busy on campus I am able to speak with a wide variety of Richmond College students and I want to address their concerns and wishes. I want to create smaller projects that will immediately help students: changes on the D hall menu, a Frisbee golf course, computers for athletes, more discounts at local stores, a dude shuttle for men to football games and weekend nights and much more. As Vice President of Student Advocacy I will head up student concerns forums and visit door to door around the residence halls, working with WCGA to improve the quality of life for students here now and for those who come in the future.

Project-wise, I am working to create a Senate Shuttle for Richmond College Students for selected weekends and football games. I also look forward to forming strong connections with President-elect Ayers, the new Richmond College Dean, Joseph Boehman, and the leaders of other student government organizations, such as WCGA, JSGA, and RSB SGA.
