Welcome to the Richmond College Student Government Association webpage!
The RCSGA is governed by the Richmond College Senate and also includes the Honor and Judicial Councils. We are responsible for the allocation of funding to student organizations, serving as liaisons between students and university administration, and planning various events throughout the year. Various Senators represent their constituents on a number of university committees including parking appeals, dining services, Core Course advisory.
The 2006-2007 term has been an extremely successful one for the RCSGA. After a restructuring last spring and the following fall to more effectively delegate responsibilities to the various Vice Presidents, the Senate successfully orchestrated its first Constitutional update in over a decade! We’ve also created a new student life survey, lobbied for changes to parking services, pushed for more funding for student organizations, and begun work on a comprehensive list of area businesses and the discounts they offer. Also notable this year was our strong and concentrated effort to ensure the construction of a new on-campus football stadium. Finally, we have a number of important issues left to address and new services to offer, so be sure to keep checking this website regularly.
We willingly campaign to serve as your advocates to ensure that the university administration addresses student needs and hope that we can assist you or your organization in some way. Simply put: let us know what is bothering you and we can do something about it.
Please use the buttons along the left side of the screen to view the responsibilities of the various subcommittees and for contact information. Should you wish to attend a general Senate meeting, we convene at 7:00PM on Wednesday nights in the Whitehurst Living Room.
Regards,
Ethan L. McWilliams
RCSGA President 2006-2007
