Official Press Release Virginia Tech Memorial A Cappella CD Released to Support Those Impacted by April 16th, 2007 Tragedy April 23rd, 2007 Richmond, VA – In a collaborative effort by collegiate a cappella groups from across the Commonwealth of Virginia, supported by Matthew Bolling at Magnolia Productions, LLC, a 35 to 40 track, two-disc compilation CD is currently in production to help raise funds to help those impacted by the tragedy at Virginia Tech on April 16th, 2007. In just 72 hours time, 24+ collegiate a cappella groups spanning across the state have all agreed to appear on the Compact Disc set, as well as, have pledged financial support from each member of their groups to fund the initial costs and to provide donations. On the official web site, ForTodayCD.com, Bolling states, “In the wake of the recent tragedy on Virginia Tech's campus, it is my hope that the gesture of unity shown by the groups appearing on this CD, the support of unity shown by the a cappella community by supporting this CD, and the strength of unity from people around the world donating to receive a copy of this CD will make a difference in the lives of the family, friends, students, faculty, and staff affected by the events at Virginia Tech on April 16th 2007.” Thanks to the generous contributions from the groups involved, 100% of all purchases and donations made towards the project will be given directly to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund setup by the Virginia Tech Foundation and to Hokies United at Virginia Tech. Matthew Bolling graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a degree in Computer Engineering and was a member of Virginia Tech’s all-male a cappella ensemble, Juxtaposition for 2 years. Magnolia Productions, LLC is Bolling’s self-owned small-business which provides web design and graphic design services. Collegiate a cappella represents many styles of music from choral pieces, to barbershop arrangements, to pop/rock covers of familiar songs heard on the radio. Groups traditionally consist of anywhere from 4-20 members and are either all-male, all-female, or co-ed in nature.
