Type of Institution
A premier, private, liberal arts university featuring highly selective, primarily undergraduate programs, as well as graduate programs in arts and sciences, business and law.

Founded
1830, Richmond is the second-oldest private university in Virginia and home to a number of rich traditions.

President
William E. Cooper, named the University’s eighth president by the Board of Trustees on May 9, 1998.

Schools
3 undergraduate schools: the School of Arts and Sciences, the Robins School of Business and the Jepson School of Leadership Studies. Graduate programs in law, business and several arts and sciences fields.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Libraries
4 libraries (including the main library, science, music and law libraries) with over one million volumes in the collections. More than an impressive building and voluminous collection, Richmond's libraries offer the service of professional librarians whose mission is to help students learn to negotiate and research through a maze of current day information gathering tools. Together, the access to excellent collections, first-rate technology and service-oriented staff make the library system a central part of the academic experience for Richmond students.
