Greek Life at UR...
The Greek community at the University of Richmond is comprised of
fifteen (inter)nationally affiliated Greek letter organizations. Many students
find that joining a fraternity or sorority provides them a home away from home
and a foundation upon which to build a new and exciting future. In addition, the
University of Richmond Greek community opens many doors by providing leadership,
academic, athletic, service, and interpersonal opportunities. The decision to
join a Greek letter organization is a lifelong commitment with an organization
that stands for the best things college has to offer. Greek organizations at the
University of Richmond are slightly different from those at some other schools
because there is no Greek housing on campus and as such members of the Iota Mu
chapter do not have a house.
However,
our sisters share in many of the same joys and benefits of sisterhood as other
Alpha Chis across the nation and no one seems to miss the experience of a having
a house.

some of the most commonly asked questions about joining a sorority/fraternity,

About Richmond, VA and where we are located...
Richmond is the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, a state of the
United States of America. Like all Virginia municipalities incorporated as
cities, it is an independent city, not part of any county (Richmond County is
unrelated, and located more than 53 miles (85 kilometers) distant in a different
region of the state). Richmond is located on the fall line of the James River in
the Piedmont region of Virginia and is at the center of the Richmond
Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) and the Greater Richmond Area.
